February Devlog

Hi everyone,

In the previous update, my biggest concern was whether the modding tools would actually work across all the platforms that HC2 is shipped to. Fortunately, this didn’t turn out to be a problem as the tools appears to be functioning on every platform so far. However, there are still a few important points I want to address.

The first, and most serious issue, is the Android version. While it technically works, it requires a lot of workarounds and is far from a pleasant experience. I’m still unsure how much effort I should invest into making it truly comfortable to use. Even if I add features that make mod creation easier, the nature of mobile devices makes essential tasks like renaming and moving files inherently awkward, and the UI will likely never feel as smooth as on PC. For now, I’ll keep Enemy Creation available on mobile while I weigh the pros and cons, but please understand that this part of the tool is on thin ice.

The second observation is that many users are struggling with the file format restrictions and the UI itself. This was somewhat expected given how unintuitive the interface can be. I believe these issues will gradually improve as the modding tools continue to evolve.

Taking all of this into account, I decided to prioritize two things for this update: Usability improvements and most requested features. The main additions for the Modding Tools include the ability to rename stages, select a sound effect for each stage, and a new validation system that detects when images have the correct names but use unsupported file formats.

As for general content, I expanded Cordellia’s event by adding multiple new scenes and enemy variations, including two full encounters featuring a new enemy named Lilith along with another form of the same enemy that I’ll leave for you to discover what's all that about. I also added more interactions between Lilith and Cordellia, along with new ways to tie the narrative together.

Hero Corruption version 2.05 is scheduled to release on Thursday, March 5th.

Thank you all for the continued support! ❤️❤️
