Hero Corruption 2 v1.90b Released !

The new version of HC2 is out !

Changes:


THE ASYLUM

  • A new dungeon has been added to the Swamp location

    • During this patch, all Swamp exploration events will lead to the Asylum with a 100% chance.

  • Attribute checks can be found throughout the dungeon, allowing players to uncover hidden details, secret paths, and the true nature of this place.

  • As you explore the new dungeon, your hero might slowly change, and start hearing/seeing things



MADNESS & HALLUCINATIONS

  • The Asylum’s influence may distort your hero’s senses

    • New hallucination visual effects can appear during exploration, gradually fading into the screen

    • You may even start hearing things that aren’t really there

  • Their frequency is tied to a madness attribute, which increases when you encounter enemies or experience strange events



ASYLUM ENEMIES

  • The dungeon features four new interactive enemies

    • Unlike the facility these are actual encounters, you can attack, use techniques, and consumables

  • All enemy albums are already available as loot



OTHERS

  • Added the Asylum to the museum gallery

  • Added WASD movement to all dungeons

  • Added the Asylum Bad Ending

  • Added a new Achievement

  • Added several new sfx



BALANCE STUFF

  • Easy Mode Bonus EXP increased 60% > 100%

  • Increased Investigation success chance in all dungeons 25% > 50%



BUG FIXES

  • Fixed Curses not being removed when the hero escapes from an elite encounter

  • Fixed sfx not stopping when escaping from an encounter

  • Fixed not being possible to re-challenge Chloe at the Arena

Nice one! More than once I wished there was wasd navigation in the dungeons and it really matters. Now we only need options for C-f, C-b, C-n, C-p for emacs users. And of course hjkl for the evil ones ;)

Hi diogaoo,


It has been a LOOOOOONG time since I left input on this game. Overall it's been very fun these last couple of versions! Curses force the player to be efficient with their time before the run snowballs out of control. Great change!


If possible, can the curses screen include a confirm button like the attributes screen? I click through the night often and accidentally choose the middle curse without reading it way too much.


I am not paying for new versions, so haven't tried v1.90b, but the dungeon-style areas are great! It sounds like it will force the player to value and stretch all their resources for a marathon of battles and encounters without resting.

Hi McKig! It’s great to see you again ! I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying the recent versions ❤️

I’m not too keen on adding another confirmation screen, but do you think a short delay between the options appearing and the buttons becoming clickable would help prevent accidental selections?

My coding practices are definitely something I need to improve. Sometimes I rush to get new mechanics working, telling myself I’ll clean things up later and that doesn’t always happen... So any suggestions are more than welcome !
