This month, a new starting area was implemented: The Outskirts.
Outskirts will be available right at the beginning of your adventure, along with Forest and Plains, and it already has two new enemies, one of which is a new boss, "Astrid and Ari", and Tinky.
Implementing Outskirts was a bit harder than the previous areas because HC2 now has a total of 11 areas (including the Tower), which makes it impossible to access all areas with the previously implemented hotkey mechanic (1-0 top row number keys). To circumvent this, there was a rework on the map selection screen, most of the changes were back-end, but the interaction is now done through pages. The current exploration screen holds a total of 8 maps, if the hero possess more than that, a new button will appear to access the screen second page, allowing you to select the hardest areas.
In addition to these recurring changes, I'll probably implement some new Curses for the Tower too.
Still about curses, now that you had time to adapt to the new mechanic, how would you feel if they were added to hardmode? Players have been asking me for something that differentiates hardmode from the rest of the game and maybe Curses are the ideal mechanic for that... Perhaps a new curse every 3 days?...Let me know your thoughts about this.
The release of version v1.65 is scheduled for Friday, July 4th.

Hello! I'd love to leave here my piece of experience with the browser version 1.60. I quite like it! It's pretty good, and I do prefer it over the previous versions despite being quite different from the python version. The random events are quite ok, not too punishing nor too rewarding, the combat and related mechanics are still solid. I do think that a small reduction in addiction buildup would be great, though it does fit inside the 15 day cycle of the game. I'd love to have more stuff for 15+ runs, feels a little bit of wasted potential to finish it at 15 days and starting again.
I also would like if some basic recipes would be available…
Looks like I got an addiction increase from a fountain even with Fairy Powder active.
Bug, or feature?
I don't know what part of your user base is on Patreon, but those of us using the free version haven't seen Curses yet. In my experience, most of the useful feedback I see on this site comes from people playing the free version. I'll try to form an opinion as quickly as possible after the public release of 1.60 so I can weigh in early in the next dev cycle.
As it is, the game is very predictable and repetitive, with very clear optimal game choices and acceptable randomized outcomes. There are random events, but they are quite rare. In the tower, there are none at all. After playing the game for a long time, there aren't a …
